Bentley was officially the second school, directly after Harvard, to launch StudentBusinesses.com. This is an online organization which promotes student entrepreneurship. Bentley's involvement is largely due to Bentley's Entrepreneur Society (BES), a student- run club that encourages students to start-up their own businesses.

BES is not only one of the fastest growing organizations on campus; it is also one of the most unique. BES focuses on identifying, nurturing, and promoting entrepreneurial spirit found in many of Bentley's students. BES draws resources from many areas to provide the networking entrepreneur with opportunities for success, networking, collaboration, business ideas, and "out of the box" thinking.

The website was started by two Harvard students who shared a common interest: entrepreneurial leadership. Last week co-founders S. Travis May and Vivek G. Ramaswamy established the site to unify students with the same interests. StudentBusinesses.com gives students and recent alumni a chance to network with other students from colleges such as Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston College, Boston University, Brown College, Tufts University, Emerson University, University of North Carolina, and New York University.

Even if a student is not working on a start-up company, he or she still has a chance to sign up as a member. Student members of the site may join "In the Game" if they currently are part of a startup, or they may join "On the Roster" if they are entrepreneurially-minded but are not currently part of a startup. On the website, there is a section entitled "Idea Bullpen," where people can shoot off business ideas and give each other advice on different types of industries or companies. Experience professionals can also access the site and have to possibility to contact young promising entrepreneurs. This was specifically designed to be a student entrepreneur website, and to serve as an educational resource allowing students to view knowledgeable articles pertaining to student start-ups and the business world. StudentBusinesses.com sells subscriptions to private investors, venture capitalists, accountants, and other business professionals with an interest in reaching student entrepreneurs. It is free for students, but they must apply for membership. Users are required to create a profile and state their skills and interests.

Chris Ronzio, BES's Chief Executive Officer, who owns his own business, Firewire Films, states "I am excited that Bentley launched studentbusinesses.com and look forward to see how this innovative website may enhance student entrepreneurship as well as networking and education."

Bentley Entrepreneur Society encourages all students to take advantage of this free website membership at studentbusinesses.com. If you are interested in more information about BES, visit their website at bescomp.org or contact Ronzio_chri@bentley.edu.
